Newfoundland and Labrador

The NLPNP is a program for nominating individuals to the federal government with the goal of obtaining permanent residence in Canada. Newfoundland immigration conducts provincial nominee draws through the Newfoundland & Labrador Provincial Nominee Program. There are several categories to help candidates choose from such as Express Entry Skilled Worker, Skilled Worker, and International Graduate streams of immigration.
Express Entry Skilled Worker Category
Candidates may be eligible to apply for the express entry skilled worker stream of NLPNP if they have a high profile in teh federal Express Entry pool and have held a high-skilled job at Newfoundland and Labrador for at least 2 years.
NLPNP invites skilled workers from the federal Express Entry pool who are in NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B occupations to apply for the Express Entry Skilled Worker stream.
Skilled Worker Category
To be eligible and qualify for the skilled worker category the candidates must possess an offer of employment from an employer of Newfoundland and Labrador. The candidate needs to already be working in the province with a valid work permit.
In addition the candidates also require:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma or an equivalent amount of educational experience
- A job or job offer that corresponds to the NOC levels of 0, A, B or C
- A recent combination of skill, experience and/or training, according to the NOC description, in the field they are working
- Job or job offer must be full-time
- A valid position that responds to a labour market need in Newfoundland & Labrador
Graduate Category
The Post-Graduate Work Permit program at NLNP may be available to graduates from eligible postsecondary institutions who choose to remain in Canada. To be eligible, an employer in Newfoundland and Labrador needs to have offered a position related to the graduates' field of study. Or the graduate applicant must be currently employed or have received a job offer from the employer
In order to qualify for the category, the applicant must have
- PGWP with at least 4 months of remaining validity
- An offer or a full-time job in NOC category of 0, A or B,
- An offer from the NOC C occupation on the in-demand occupation listings to ensure a minimum of 30 hours per week

International Entrepreneur Category
Foreign nationals with ownership and management experience are encouraged to apply for this category if they are planning to buy and manage a business in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. Applicants must have substantial personal net worth and business management experience.
Priority Skills NL
Applicants that are planning to apply to Priority Skills NL need to possess work experience in occupations that are in demand in Newfoundland and Labrador. They must possess high academic credentials and language skills as well.
To apply to the NL PN, candidates must fill out an Expression of Interest form. Candidates with the greatest interest and highest score from potential employers will be invited to apply.
